Following the completion of its 360° strategic review in 2025, Retina International (RI) is focused on translating insights and stakeholder feedback into a clear strategic direction for the future. For 2026-2030, RI will build on this work to strengthen its organisational focus, deepen member engagement and enhance its ability to represent the global retinal community.

At the heart of this work are RI’s three strategic pillars: EMPOWER, ADVOCATE and INNOVATE. These pillars guide our efforts to equip our members with knowledge and resources, champion the rights and priorities of people affected by retinal conditions, and advance patient-led research and innovation. Through our renewed strategy, we aim to strengthen existing programmes, foster collaboration across our global membership and respond to the evolving needs of our community.

Our progress depends on the collective commitment of our members, volunteers, Board, Secretariat, funders and partners. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to our work in 2025 and continues to support our shared goals. We particularly acknowledge the partners whose support makes key initiatives possible, including the RI Education Hub and Continuous Education Programme.

Looking ahead, RI will continue to bring together the voices, expertise and experiences of people living with retinal conditions across generations and geographies. By putting our strategy into action, strengthening our global network and championing a more inclusive, patient-centred approach to research and care, we aim to create lasting impact for the global retinal community.
